BASIC SAFETY TRAINING

The objective of this training program is to provide seafarers with the necessary knowledge and skills in order to prevent and combat fires, ensure personal safety, fulfill social responsibilities, administer elementary first aid, and apply personal survival techniques in emergency situations while at sea.

Seafarers who currently hold a Personal Survival Techniques (PST) certification must complete this updated proficiency course every five years to maintain their proficiency in accordance with the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW) 1978, as amended.

Seafarers who possess a valid Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting (FPFF) certification must complete this proficiency course every five years to maintain their proficiency in accordance with the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW) 1978, as amended.

Revalidation Training for Deck Officers & Masters

  • All Deck Officers & Masters holding STCW 2010 CoC.
  • Biometric Seafarers Identity Document (BSID) is mandatory for all the D.G. Shipping Approved Courses from 1st April 2023. Students without BSID will not be permitted for the course.
