Educational Qualification
- Minimum 10th Pass with 40% marks
- Minimum 40% marks in English
- OR
- ITI (2 years) with minimum 50% marks
Age Limit
- 17.5 to 25 years (General Category)
- Relaxation for Diploma / SC-ST candidates
Medical & Physical Requirements
- Medically fit as per DG Shipping norms
- Eyesight: 6/6 vision (no color blindness)
- No speech/hearing issues
- Minimum Height & Weight as per standards
👉 Medical fitness is mandatory for sea service.

Important Instructions For GP Rating Selection – 2026
Selected candidates must complete a 6-month GP Rating Pre-Sea Training course along with mandatory basic modular courses approved by the Directorate General of Shipping, Government of India.
Training will be conducted at one of the company-approved institutes, including Commander Ali Academy of Merchant Navy, Coimbatore Marine College, or Maritime Foundation. The final allotment of the institute will depend on the candidate’s performance during the selection process.
Fee Structure & Selection Process
- Training fees: Approximately â‚ą6,50,000
- Medical & psychometric test: Approx. â‚ą6,500 (to be borne by the candidate)
- Online test fee: Approx. â‚ą1,000
Eligible candidates will undergo an online entrance test, followed by a personal interview, based on performance.
Important Instructions
- Candidates must bear their own expenses for travel, accommodation, and meals during the selection process
- Carry original mark sheets of Class 10th, 12th, and Degree/Diploma certificates
- Appearing candidates are also eligible to apply

- Ensures fitness for sea life
Step 5: Final Selection

Step 6: Seat Booking
- Selected candidates must confirm seat by paying booking amount
Step 7: Sponsorship & Admission Letter
- Helps in securing admission & education loan
- On-Board training is 100% secured.
